About the club
No club in this archive has risen faster. Founded on 19 July 2013 to play amateur tournaments in the City of the Mango, Altos turned professional in 2015 by immediately winning Piauí's second division, and two years later they were state champions, ahead of the old local giants River and Flamengo. Today they are four times Piauí champions, the four stars on the crest, they have knocked Sport and ABC out of the Copa do Brasil and have tasted both Série C and Série D of the Brasileirão. The mascot is an alligator, for the lagoons of the Cocais region surrounding the town, and the second nickname is even better: Manga Mecânica, the Mechanical Mango. Twelve years, four titles and a century old state forced to make room at the table.
