About the club
Associação Desportiva de Castro Daire was born on 18 October 1975 in the Beiras, between the Montemuro range and the river Paiva. The Castrenses play in green and white hoops at the town's Complexo Desportivo and wear a yellow diamond on the chest with the municipal coat of arms, towers and castle included.
For decades it was a district-league club, until 2019, when it won the AF Viseu title and made its debut in the Campeonato de Portugal with a local coach, Vasco Almeida, and a 19-match unbeaten run that had an amateur side trading blows with professionals. Relegated in 2023, it took three years to get back: in May 2026 a 4-0 over Moimenta da Beira on the final day sealed the Divisão de Honra title and a return to the fourth tier.
Here at Hoopster, Castro Daire is proof that green and white hoops are worn at 700 metres of altitude too.
