About the club
Bodrumspor was born in 1931 at the hands of Derviş Görgün, who also played, in the club founding wave of Atatürk's young republic, and first wore yellow and red before converting to green and white. For decades it was an amateur club on the Aegean's most beautiful peninsula, with a first peek at the 3rd League in 1995/96, until the Bodrum municipality took it over in 2012 and began the most improbable climb in recent Turkish football: from the regional amateurs to the 3rd League in 2015, the 2nd in 2017, the 1st in 2022 and, renamed Bodrum FK, to the first Süper Lig in its history in 2024, the play off final won against Sakaryaspor in extra time. On the crest, the Castle of St Peter above the waves: the fortress that guards the bay guards the club as well.
