About the club

Castleknock Celtic was born in 1987 in northwest Dublin and carries its whole homeland on the crest: the Norman castle that names Castleknock and the stag of neighbouring Phoenix Park, where the fallow deer herd has roamed free since the seventeenth century. From modest beginnings it grew into one of Ireland's biggest grassroots clubs: 46 teams, 41 boys' and girls' sides in the Dublin schoolboys' league, including the Premier Division, five adult teams in the Leinster leagues and an academy teaching 4 to 7 year olds on Saturday mornings. The Porterstown Park clubhouse was opened in 2009 by minister Brian Lenihan, with Sky Sports watching, and Tara O'Hanlon came through here on her way to Manchester City.
