About the club
In the old Seljuk capital, football has a double headed eagle: Konyaspor was born in 1922 and took its crest from the heraldry of the empire that made Konya its court. The Anatolian Eagles spent decades riding the divisional elevator before settling in the top flight in the 2010s, with a new 42,000 seat stadium and a stand, the Nalçacılılar, that makes the city one of Turkey's loudest venues. Consecration came late and all at once: third place in 2015/16, the 2016/17 Turkish Cup won on penalties against Başakşehir, the 2017 Super Cup against Beşiktaş and, in the centenary year, the best league season of them all. Green and white hoops, as the house demands.
