About the club
LORC was born on 24 February 1977 as Lille Ouest Rugby Club, founded by Pierre Delorme, Michel Faber and Robert Boët with the backing of the mayors of Marquette-lez-Lille, Saint-André-lez-Lille and Wambrechies, the three communes that still make up its territory today. Delorme's tragic death in 1979 gave its name to the Pierre Delorme challenge, an under-15 tournament that every May brings together over 300 young players from six countries. In 2007 the club took its current name, and in 2010 it opened the Haut Touquet stadium, now named Jean Delebarre.
With around 250 members, from the rugby school to the Zabeilles women's team and the veterans' "papas rugby", LORC proves a small club can grow without losing the closeness of the communes that founded it.
