About the club

Luverdense was born on 24 January 2004, founded by businessmen and farmers of Lucas do Rio Verde, a Mato Grosso town that only came to life in the 1980s and grew to the rhythm of soybeans. The name comes from the demonym of those born there, and the rural identity reaches all the way to the mascot, a corn cob. The rise was meteoric: the Verdão do Norte climbed the Brazilian pyramid to Série B, where it stayed for several consecutive seasons until 2017, the year it won the biggest trophy in its history, the Copa Verde. With three state titles to its name, it plays at the Estádio Passo das Emas and today splits its calendar between Série D and the Mato Grosso state championship.
