About the club

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation was born in the years of independence, between 1955 and 1956, successor to the regional league that existed under the French protectorate, and organised the first national championship as early as 1956, won by Wydad Casablanca. It joined FIFA in 1960 and has since run a pioneering African team: the continent's first to play a World Cup, in 1970, the first to reach the knockout stage, at Mexico 86, and the only one to reach a semi-final, at Qatar 2022, a historic feat for the Arab world too.
