About the club

Mouloudia was born on 16 March 1946, on the day of Mawlid, the birth of the Prophet, which gives the club its name. The colonial authorities only authorised Oujda's Moroccan club on condition it be chaired by a French citizen, and the solution was a Franco-Algerian interpreter; the green and white shirt became the sporting flag of eastern Moroccan nationalism, with a motto to match: MCO belongs to the Oriental and the whole Oriental belongs to MCO.

The Kings of the East were Moroccan champions in 1975 and won four Throne Cups, with the 35,000 seat Stade d'Honneur raised in 1977 to host them. The decades since have held more crossings than thrones, but the region still stands whole behind them.
