About the club
The Selección Antioquia is the representative team of Medellín's department in Colombian football's inter-regional competitions, from the interleague tournaments to the Juegos Nacionales, wearing the green and white of the Antioquian flag. Behind it stands Indeportes Antioquia, the department's public sports institute, heir to the Junta Administradora de Deportes created in 1969 and shaped over half a century into what is known as the home of Antioquian sport. And what a home: Antioquia is probably Colombian sport's most fertile soil, the department that gave the world René Higuita, entire generations of Atlético Nacional and DIM players, and even the country's great cyclists. Before any professional contract, many of them wore exactly this shirt.
