About the club

Sporting Clube de Paris was born in 1983 under founding president José Lopes de Sousa, in Paris's 13th arrondissement, with the mission of making sport a driver of social cohesion within the Portuguese community. Its crest is directly inspired by Sporting Lisbon's, of which it is an officially registered filial, number 143. It started in 11-a-side football and quickly stood out in the regional divisions; in 2003, with the creation of the Paris-Île-de-France league's first regional futsal championship, it opened the section that is today its most visible face.

Every year the club travels to international tournaments in Belgium, Portugal and Italy, where it has already faced Sporting Lisbon itself and Benfica, keeping alive its ties to the homeland of the community it represents.
