About the club
TSV Burgdorf is a club of several lives in a town in the Hannover region of Lower Saxony. Its oldest root is the Männerturnverein of 4 March 1849, a gymnastics club from a time when football didn't even exist; from mergers with the SV Victoria of 1907 and the Grün-Gelb tennis club, today's TSV was born on 13 January 1946. The football section lives in Hannover's district leagues, with a Lower Saxony Cup won in 1973 as its biggest trophy.
Fame came through another door: the first handball team spun off in 2005 as TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, the Recken, and has played in the Bundesliga since 2009, filling arenas in Hannover.
