About the club
TSV Wietze is the club of a village that changed industrial history: it was in Wietze, on the Lower Saxony heath, that one of the world's first oil wells was drilled in 1858, before America's famous Titusville well, and the land of Germany's first oil field today keeps the German Petroleum Museum. The club, more than a century old and a thousand members strong, is that village in sporting form: multi section, from football to swimming, from gymnastics to Faustball and, because times change, to Zumba, with a sports park of three grass pitches, an artificial one, an athletics track and pools. Senior football lives in the Celle district leagues, where it has always belonged: village sport in its purest state.
