Union Sportive du Trèfle

Few clubs put the commitment in their own name: Union Sportive du Trèfle, the Sports Union of the Shamrock. Born around 2016 from the merger of two historic sides of the Gard-Lozère district, US Sommières and US Calvisson, this intercommunal club gathered over 300 players in the area of Sommières, a medieval town between Nîmes and Montpellier famous for the Roman bridge that has crossed the Vidourle for two thousand years. Bridge and tower both feature on the crest, next to the shamrock that gave the club its name and colours. In July 2025 the Trèfle was dissolved and local football went back to its roots under the name Union Sportive de Sommières. A club that no longer exists, which makes it all the more special.
