About the club
Union Sportive Thuirinoise, US Thuir, is a rugby union club founded in 1911, heir to the 1905 Stadoceste Thuirinois, based in Thuir, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, French Catalonia. It reached the Excellence division in the 1930s, with last-16 finishes in 1937 and 1939, switched to rugby league between 1947 and 1949, and returned to union for a slow climb through the divisions that reached Group A of the 1st division in 1977. It plays at the Eugène Ribère stadium, named after the France captain twelve times over in the 1920s and 30s, born in Thuir.
Today it competes in Fédérale 2, with honours including the 2018 Excellence B title and the 2016 Pays Catalan Honneur championship.
