About the club
VfR Fischeln was born in 1920 in the Fischeln district of Krefeld, and is today a multi-sport club combining football with badminton, archery and other grassroots disciplines, always in green and white. It spent decades in the district leagues before reaching the Lower Rhine's Landesliga in 2004, where it competed near the top for several seasons without taking the next step, until finally winning promotion to the Niederrheinliga in 2009.
It is the portrait of a neighbourhood club that took almost ninety years to reach its best competitive level, never leaving the green and white hoops behind along the way.
