About the club
VV Amstelveen was born on 25 October 1947 as C.S.C.A., Christelijke Sport Club Amstelveen, founded by a Christian community during the Dutch post-war reconstruction, and became vv Amstelveen in 1966/67. Since the 1953/54 season it has played at the Overburg complex, shared with Sint Martinus, and since 1997/98 has also carried the name of sponsor Heemraad, a regional construction firm. It once competed at the highest tier of Dutch amateur football of the era, with forward Jan Fopma, still the club's all time top scorer with 129 goals in nine seasons.
