The story

Yeovil Town’s green and white stripes are one of the most recognisable visual identities in English non-league football. This home shirt, made by Essegi, is exactly the kind of piece that catches the eye of a serious collector: a lesser-known brand, limited circulation, and a club whose history feels far bigger than its size might suggest.

Interestingly, Essegi never actually became Yeovil Town’s official supplier. This shirt was produced as a proposal to win that role, in a process that was eventually won by Paulas Benara. That makes the shirt even more special, almost like an alternative piece from a story that could have gone in a different direction.

The vertical stripes are the backbone of the Glovers’ identity. Seeing them on a vintage shirt from this era gives the piece a weight and authenticity that modern reissues rarely manage to match.
