About the brand

ABA Sport was founded in Monterrey in 1991 by local businessmen with strong ties to the city’s clubs, and grew fast inside Mexican football: nine years dressing Monterrey, four Chivas, three Tecos, one Tigres, plus Santos Laguna in the mid nineties. It entered history through a single shirt: the 1998 World Cup jersey with the Aztec Sun Stone printed across the chest, sketched in half an hour by Ricardo Guzmán and ranked by FourFourTwo as the 11th best kit ever made. In 1999 it lost the national team contract to Garcis and vanished from the pitches, but it never closed: it kept reissuing the 98 shirt and, in 2026, relaunched it at scale for the home World Cup.
