Fila

Fila was born in 1911 in Biella, in textile Piedmont, at the hands of the Fila brothers, making underwear for the people of the Alps. The world met it in the seventies, when the White Line dressed Björn Borg's tennis and the red and blue F-box became one of sport's most recognisable logos. By the nineties it was everywhere, from Grant Hill's basketball to the streets of half the world, and its teamwear reached villages like Maria Lankowitz. Today it belongs to the South Korean group Fila Holdings, which bought it in 2007, a rare case of an Italian centenarian with an Asian passport. The F repeated in jacquard across this cloth is the textile signature of that golden era.
