The story

A postcard from the nineties: a Fila template with the brand's F woven in jacquard across the cloth, an old style green collar, s.Oliver, the German fashion giant, flocked in black on the chest, and on the back the double signature that tells how village football dressed: the name WSV Piberstein printed in a white box and a huge red 3 stamped by Rotter Sport of St. Andrä, the shop that did the work.

The name on the back is the piece's identity card: WSV, Werksportverein, the club of the Piberstein coal company, heir to a mine closed in the seventies and ancestor of the FC Piberstein Lankowitz that died of insolvency in 2016, midway through a season it was leading. A working shirt, in the most literal sense football knows.

Here at Hoopster this piece holds a club that no longer exists under this name: hoops that outlived the mine, the patron and the club itself. This is exactly what archives are for.
