Penalty is Brazil's great sports brand: born in 1970 inside Cambuci S.A., the São Paulo textile company founded in 1945 in the neighbourhood that names it, it grew to dress giants like Corinthians, São Paulo, Santos and Vasco, along with entire generations of amateur pitches and futsal courts. Its kingdom is the ball: Penalty has supplied competitions across Brazil and South America for decades and became synonymous with the futsal ball, a discipline where its dominance is near total. It remains Brazilian and family-owned, a rare case of resistance in a market ruled by multinationals, faithful to the idea that sport should be played with homegrown gear.
