The story

Lusa's away shirt from the final years of the Penalty era is a lesson in elegance: white, crossed by fine horizontal stripes alternating the house green and red, with the cross crest trimmed in gold and a green 10 on the back, beneath the brand's logo up top, Brazilian style. This is the design of the Barcelusa era: in 2011 Portuguesa swept the Série B with Jorginho's attacking football, 23 wins, 82 goals and 21 straight games unbeaten, claiming the first national title in its history and a return to the top flight, which these fine stripes still dressed in 2012. Few shirts carry a flag so literally: the Portuguese one, woven in lines.

Here at Hoopster, this is a piece of the heart: the shirt of the club that emigrants founded across the Atlantic, champions in 2011 in a final match against an Icasa that also lives in this archive.
