About the brand
Saller was born in 1972 in a sports shop in Tauberrettersheim, southern Germany, opened by Richard Saller, a football coach who earned his coaching licence in Cologne two years later and took Würzburger Kickers up to the 2. Bundesliga in 1977. The idea was simple: kit out whole teams with good, affordable gear, by catalogue. In 1990 the company moved to Weikersheim and built offices, warehouses, a sports hall to train young players and a factory outlet.
It now calls itself Germany's largest football teamwear mail-order house and dresses mostly amateur clubs, along with leagues in Eastern Europe and West Africa. Its biggest name was Arminia Bielefeld, from 2008 to 2020. Lechia Gdańsk, in 2014/15 and 2015/16, was its quiet spell in the Polish top flight.
