About the brand

Zico is Galician, from O Porriño in Pontevedra, and was born in 1988 through José González, a former professional cyclist who, on hanging up the bike, traded the peloton for the sewing workshop. It is a story with a direct parallel in this collection, that of Italy's Biemme, also founded by cycling people who decided to dress other sports, and Zico followed a similar path: over three decades later, it still manufactures everything in its own factory, from design to cutting, sewing, embroidery and printing, without outsourcing to Asia, which lets it keep models available indefinitely and dress football, athletics and cycling clubs across Spain. Among its historic clients are professional cycling teams like Karpin Galicia, proof the founder never stopped serving the sport where he began. In O Porriño, José González's factory still does what it did 30 years ago: dressing those who compete, from the peloton to the neighbourhood pitch.
