About the club

Fecafoot was founded on 20 August 1959, a year before independence, and has run the Indomitable Lions ever since, a nickname given by the sports minister in 1972. The explosion came at Italia 90: after toppling Maradona's Argentina in the opening match, Cameroon became the first African side to reach a World Cup quarter final, with Roger Milla, pulled out of retirement at 38, deciding games and inventing celebrations. Five Africa Cup of Nations titles (1984, 1988, 2000, 2002, 2017), eight World Cup appearances, a continental record, and Olympic gold in 2000 complete the honours list.

Green, red and yellow are the flag's colours the team has always worn, the lion roaring on the chest as the symbol of a country that refuses to be underestimated.
