About the club
Olympique Sidi Bouzid were born in 1959 as Aigle Sportif de Sidi Bouzid, created by the town's young men who until then had settled for friendlies against neighbouring villages. The club changed names several times over the decades and took its current shape in 2003, through the merger of Club Olympique de Sidi Bouzid and Étoile Sportive de Gammouda. In 2010 the city became the epicentre of history: it was here that Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire, sparking the Tunisian revolution and the Arab Spring. Five years later, the club gave the city an unprecedented joy by reaching the Tunisian Ligue 1 for the first time, debuting in 2015/16 with a remarkable 7th place finish. Green and white, the unlikely flag of a city that changed the Arab world.
