About the club
Real Racing Club de Santander was born on 23 February 1913 and is one of the ten founding clubs of the Spanish league in 1929, finishing runners-up as early as 1930/31. Flying Cantabria's flag, the Racinguistas made the Campos de Sport de El Sardinero their home and lived their modern peak in 2007/08, when Marcelino's sixth-place finish earned the club its first ever UEFA Cup. They are called Verdiblancos, even though the home shirt is white: green and white is the soul of the house.
Relegation in 2012 opened fourteen years in the wilderness, with drops to the third tier and boardroom chaos. In May 2026, El Sardinero erupted: Segunda champions and back in the top flight.
