About the club
SG Leipzig-Leutzsch was born on 21 May 2011, in the very weeks FC Sachsen Leipzig was dying in insolvency, so that football would not stop in Leutzsch: it took the bankrupt club's reserve team's place in the Sachsenliga, kept the youth setup and became the main tenant of the Alfred-Kunze-Sportpark, the ground of the legendary BSG Chemie. It was a short, borrowed life: renamed SG Sachsen Leipzig in 2013, it fell into insolvency itself and folded at the end of 2013/14, while the heart of the Leutzsch support followed the fan refounded BSG Chemie, sole keeper of the house ever since. Three years of existence, and a place in this archive.
