About the club

SV Heinenoord is the club of the village of Heinenoord, on the Hoeksche Waard, the island of farming polders south of Rotterdam. Football had existed there since 1914, but the war killed the original club; on 6 July 1946, amid the rebuilding, the Sportvereniging was born with football and gymnastics sections. "De Noord" plays at Sportpark De Tienvoet, in Saturday football in the KNVB's West-II district.

The green and white hoops have been worn since 1989 and in 2017 they entered the crest itself, largely designed by first-team captain Toine van den Berg, featuring the wheat sheaf from the village's old municipal coat of arms and the old-fashioned ball inherited from the previous badge. One curiosity: the village lent its name to Heinenoord Holding, the insurance group that sponsors the club's shirts.
