Xilxes CF

Xilxes is a village in Castellón's Plana Baixa, squeezed between the hills and the sea, with the marjal, the coastal wetland of reeds and channels, as its identity landscape, so much so that the municipal coat of arms combines a tower over waves with a green reed. Xilxes CF was born in 1994, has always worn green and white horizontal hoops, and plays at the municipal ground of l'Alter, with Valencian regional football as its natural habitat: it reached the old Primera Regional and played a promotion phase to Preferente that slipped away through a controversial play in the last minute, the historic wound any village supporter can retell. In 2018/19 it wrote one of the happiest chapters in its history, becoming the only club in the area to secure promotion to Primera Regional, and in 2024, its 30th anniversary year, it celebrated in the best possible way: creating the first women's team in its history, champions of the first tournament it hosted at home. It is the portrait of Valencian village football, sustained by the town hall, the rural savings bank and local families, where the club is everyone's second home.
