The story
The first change shirt of the Castore era, unveiled on 11 April 2023, weeks after the brand took over from Umbro. White, with green horizontal pinstripes on the front only, green collar and cuffs trimmed in orange to complete the tricolour, the FAI's new crest and sky across the chest. On the back, just ÉIRE at the neck, as recent Irish tradition demands. A clean, pencil-stripe shirt the association itself sold as "classic and timeless".
The women wore it first: the Girls in Green debuted it in a friendly against the USA in St. Louis and took it to the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the first major finals in the history of the Irish women's team. The men wore it during the failed Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, in a group with France and the Netherlands that ended with Stephen Kenny's departure.
