Few shirts can claim to have built a stadium; this one can. When SC Kriens raised the new Kleinfeld, opened in 2018, the interior fit out was paid for by the fans in one of the biggest crowdfunding campaigns in Swiss sport: 1,944 shirts like this one, a number echoing the club's founding year, sold at 100 francs each, with entry to the opening match included.
The target was 194,400 francs and 282,000 came in, spent on the dressing rooms, the restaurant and the stadium bar, without a franc on luxuries, as the president promised. On opening day, the stand was a sea of these hoops with Stadionbauer in gold across the chest.
Here at Hoopster, this is neighbourhood football democracy made textile: whoever wore this shirt literally paid for a piece of the club.
