Umbro dressed the Owls away in a rare colour reversal: green and white hoops with blue trim, a green edged V neck, diagonal jacquard running through the fabric and the crest's owl over the initials S.W.F.C. It is the 1988/89 shirt, worn again in 1989/90, the club's last two First Division seasons before relegation on goal difference.
Here at Hoopster, this is the exception that proves the rule: Sheffield's bluest club, dressed in green, filed in a collection of hoops that usually aren't theirs.
