Jako

Jako is a German sportswear brand founded in 1989 by Rudi Sprügel and based in Hollenbach, in the Hohenlohe region, with a strong foothold in club football across German-speaking countries and beyond. Without the global reach of the major manufacturers, it has built its catalogue around mid-sized clubs, many of them with well-established visual identities. In this archive, Jako is represented by green-and-white hooped shirts worn by clubs as varied as FC St. Gallen, Greuther Fürth, and the lesser-known Grün-Weiß Erkenschwick, a small collection that shows how a stripe pattern can carry meaning across different leagues, countries, and footballing cultures.
