Jako, the German brand from Mülheim, dressed Grün-Weiß Erkenschwick in sober hoops with black and green trimmed collar and cuffs, with no adornment beyond the maker's name and sponsor Voith, the industrial machinery and technology group with factories across Germany. On the back, the black 8 under the club's full name arched above it.

It is the 2003/04 shirt of a Ruhr district club that plays under the name of its own colours, in a football landscape shared with neighbours whose history carries rather more decoration.
