Reebok

Reebok was born in Bolton, England, in 1958, founded by brothers Joe and Jeff Foster, heirs to J.W. Foster and Sons, the family workshop that had been making spiked running shoes for British sprinters since 1895. The name came from the rhebok, a South African antelope. The breakthrough arrived in the 1980s with the Freestyle and the aerobics boom, which turned the brand into an American giant able to rival Nike. In football its mark was left mainly in the 1990s and 2000s, with Liverpool as its flagship and a presence across several European leagues, including Portugal, where it dressed Sporting between 1998 and 2006. Bought by adidas in 2005 and sold to Authentic Brands Group in 2021, it lives on today mostly in trainers and lifestyle wear.
