The story
A white Kanxa alternative shirt with the double green band across the chest and the cog of the crest at its centre, topped by two stars. On the sleeves, the coat of arms of Juazeiro do Norte, city of all; at the hem, Nacional Gás, the Ceará butane company; at the neck, the Brazilian flag; on the back, a squad number 7 in green and the brand itself writ large, Brazilian style.
It served in 2014, the year of the Cariri's bitterest hangover: months earlier, the Big Green had finished one point short of promotion to Série A, and it entered that Série B suing the CBF over a direct rival's irregular line up, convinced the top flight had been taken away at a desk. The season ended in relegation and opened a spiral of falls. The stolen promotion, as they call it in Juazeiro, still runs through the courts.
