This is the season of the second star. Borgetti finished top scorer in both tournaments and Fernando Quirarte, the Sheriff, took the team to the final against Javier Aguirre's Pachuca: a 2-1 loss at the Hidalgo, then, on 20 May 2001, in a packed Corona, a 3-1 win with goals from Borgetti, Trujillo and Robson Luiz. The club now calls that date the Holiest Day.
