The story

The first shirt of the Vandanel era at Huish Park was launched for 2007/08 and stayed on for the following season. The British brand had signed a three-year deal with Yeovil in November 2006 and debuted with classic hoops, a round collar and exposed green stitching, in a cut very much of the late 2000s. This example is the sponsorless version, cleaner still.

On the pitch these were survival years: 18th in League One in 2007/08, with Russell Slade on the bench, and 17th the season after, always clinging to the third tier the Glovers had earned the hard way. The hoops, though, were already non-negotiable: they have dressed the club since 2003.

Here at Hoopster, this shirt tells the hard chapter of a story with a happy ending: six years later, the Yeovil of these hoops would reach the Championship, and that shirt also lives in this archive.
