The 2019 Liga de Elite season ended with Sporting 7th of ten, a year after finishing 3rd, and it was the year Chao Pak Kei dethroned Benfica de Macau, champions of the four previous editions. The Macau league runs on the calendar year, with the Lisbon derby playing in the background.
