The story

Green is the Foals' third colour, and on this 2012/13 away Lotto gave it the whole stage, with groups of white stripes edged in black and the word Fohlenelf embroidered on the collar, the eleven foals written where only the wearer sees it. On the back, a homegrown foal: Amin Younes, a Düsseldorf kid with a Lebanese father, arrived at the academy aged eight and debuted for the first team in April 2012, at eighteen. This shirt catches him in his first proper season among the seniors, number 25 on his back, in Lucien Favre's Gladbach where a young Marc-André ter Stegen kept goal and Granit Xhaka had just arrived. The season itself ended in eighth place and a Europa League campaign, but the kid's road went on: Ajax, Napoli with a Coppa Italia attached, and the summit in 2017, a Confederations Cup winner with Germany with a goal in the semi final. A green shirt from a black and white club, carrying the name of a foal that galloped all the way to the national team. There is no more Gladbach way to tell a story.

Here at Hoopster this shirt matters for a beginning: the 25 of a Düsseldorf kid making his way among the grown-ups with the Foal on his chest. Every journey, even those that pass through Ajax and Naples, starts in cloth like this.
