Broad hoops, a golden swoosh and an all green back: the 2017/18 Fradi dressed with the restraint of a club that needs no introduction. The season was the last of Thomas Doll's cycle, the German who had brought trophies back, and ended with the championship escaping to Vidi of Székesfehérvár, second place tasting of little in a house where only the title counts. Nobody guessed it was the eve of an era: the following summer Serhiy Rebrov would arrive, and with him the run of consecutive championships and the group stage nights that made Ferencváros a fixture of modern European autumns. The two stars above the eagle, one for every ten titles, were then the running total; a third has since joined them, which says everything about what followed.
