The story

Ivory Coast's away shirt, launched by Puma for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the first on African soil. White with brushstroke effect green hoops and orange trims, as if painted by hand, with the elephant crest and the 1992 AFCON star on the chest, from one of the most celebrated cycles of Puma's long partnership with African national teams.

It was the golden generation's shirt at its peak: Drogba, who broke his arm on the eve of the tournament and played anyway, cast and all, Yaya and Kolo Touré, Gervinho and Kalou, led by Eriksson in a group of death with Brazil and Portugal. They left unbeaten on the points available, heads held high.

Here at Hoopster, this is the archive's hand painted piece: a work of art with a whole generation inside it.
