One hundred and twenty years after Campo Grande, Sporting celebrated the anniversary by looking back in order to move forward. The 2026/27 shirt darkened the green, returned the collar to white and delivered the most symbolic change of all: a new crest that is really the return of the classic shield worn from 1945 to 2001, recovered in modern form after a quarter century of the badge introduced in 2002. For anyone who has followed the crest saga through this collection, from the last shirt with the SCP initials in 2001/02 to their return in 2011/12, this is the final chapter. The commemorative details come in gold: the 120 under the collar, the 1906 2026 tag on the hem, the golden lettering on the back. And on the back of this particular one it reads Hoopster 10, because some shirts are collected and one, every now and then, gets signed. In a collection with more than two dozen Sporting shirts, from 1987 to today, this is the piece that gives the house its name: the encyclopaedia of the hoops dressed in the 120th anniversary shirt of the most important hoops of all.
Here at Hoopster this shirt closes a saga with a happy ending: a hundred and twenty years after Campo Grande, the classic crest returned to the lion's chest. At Sporting, moving forward sometimes means going back.
